East Bay Mom

East Bay Mom itself is a non-profit site dedicated to expressing the *reality* of being a mom, wife
and friend and establishing an online identity for smart, fun & hip moms.

If you are like so many of my fellow mom friends, you actually have an identity outside of your children and family. You enjoy getting dressed up, going to a nice dinner, and can even cut loose on the dance floor. You spent time living in the city, and likely met the man that made you a mom in the city!  Yet, you want to provide an ideal lifestyle for your beloved children.  So you made the move to the burbs to have a little more wiggle room, a garage to store all the plastic crap and a patch of grass for munchkins to run around on -- *NOT* because you aren't cool anymore.

This identity is non-existent in today's world.  East Bay Mom is creating a community of women that are strong and independent, yet loving and nurturing ... that are fun, smart and driven, yet still domestic ... that frequent pizza parlors and birthday parties, yet still enjoy a great dinner, a few cocktails and a night on the town ... that are great parents, yet still like to have our own identity.
